Peru Dharani is an Indian-born Belgian author, scientist, technology leader and speaker whose work weaves science, civilisation and the enduring questions of what it means to be human.

Born in rural Tamil Nadu and shaped by a life between India and Europe, his writing explores ancestry, migration, science, spirituality and the forces that shape how human beings belong, believe and become.

His debut literary memoir, Bloemen voor Boeddha, published by Lannoo in September 2026, traces his journey from a remote farm in South India to Europe, weaving family memory, civilisational history and philosophical reflection into a deeply personal meditation on belonging, modernity and what it means to become fully human.

Alongside his writing, Peru serves as Senior Vice President Innovation at Barco and is an alumnus of Belgium’s 40 under 40. His public work explores how technology, culture and humanist values can shape a more humane future.

He lives in Belgium with his family.
